Shovels and the Scriptures – Episode 5

This episode–of value for anyone looking for inspiration in their lives–focusses on archaeological discoveries and biblical writings from 2500 years ago. Recounting some of the joys, sorrows, and dramatic events experienced by God’s people during two centuries involving several regional “power changes,” Bridgett and Justin highlight the writings of one of the Old Testament minor prophets (Haggai), who witnessed God inspiring (“stirring up”) His people to rebuild Jerusalem after their exile. True to the Shovels and the Scriptures theme, the episode ends with Bridgett and Justin encouraging us to memorize a verse that expresses a great prayer (which we can pray to God!) for inspiration: “I will run in the way of your commandments when You enlarge my heart” (Psalm 119:32).
